Registration begins March 1, 2018, for Coastal Studies Institute’s (CSI) 2018 Summer Camps. CSI will offer fourteen summer experiences for 9-15 year old students between the dates of June 11 and August 10, 2018. These day camps combine STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) concepts with fun, hands-on activities to create an educational, exciting and rewarding summer experience. Campers should be ready for days full of exploration and investigations! Students will have the opportunity to take part in a variety lab and field experiences including snorkeling, kayaking, collecting species data by seining, trawling and hook-and-line fishing, studying plankton in the lab, engineering ocean exploring equipment, and many other fun educational activities. Getting wet and muddy is par for the course, so a change of clothes and shoes is required.
Camp begins at 9:00 am and ends at 3:30 at CSI and includes t-shirts, water bottles, and snacks. Campers are required to bring a lunch to camp each day. There are a variety of camp experiences that focus on everything from art to SCUBA diving. These camps will provide educational activities in the amazing ecosystems found in northeastern North Carolina and will provide plenty of fun and new experiences.
