Bio
Lauren joined Coastal Studies Institute in this role in March of 2023. She previously worked at Coastal Studies Institute as a temporary Outreach Associate for the summer of 2022. In this position, she instructed curriculum-based summer camps and found her love for experiential environmental education and science communication.
Having grown up on the Outer Banks, Lauren spends much of her free time on the beach. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading, and watching Carolina basketball.

Current Project(s)
Lauren supports the Education and Outreach team in youth and K-12 program development and implementation. She also works to create and disseminate outreach materials to connect the community to CSI faculty research.
Based at the Coastal Studies Institute (CSI), the North Carolina Renewable Ocean Energy Program (NCROEP) advances inter-disciplinary marine energy solutions across UNC System partner colleges of engineering at NC State University, UNC Charlotte, and NC A&T University.
