Over the past nine months, the Public Engagement and Outreach team at the Coastal Studies Institute has been working to bring the experiences of CSI to the virtual realm. In addition to the virtual content produced in 2020, such as the Kitchen ScienceSummer Science on the Sound, and Meet the Scientist series on Youtube, CSI has now released a full-length, virtual, 360-degree tour of the ECU Outer Banks Campus.

The team worked with 360 cameras and computer programs to capture the essence of CSI through photo, video, and text to make the virtual tour as interactive as possible. Viewers are able to move outdoor spaces, research labs, classrooms, and more. While participating in the tour, users will also have easy access to links, extra pictures, and videos which will provide even more information about the spaces they are in.

The Public Engagement and Outreach team is excited to continue to offer opportunities, such as this virtual tour, to the public in order to accommodate the new norms of life. Additional resources and information on upcoming events can be found via the CSI website and on CSI social media platforms.

See the tour below now,  or for future viewing, find it listed in the upper right menu of the CSI website.
